Swarm Learning Wiki
What is Swarm Learning (SL)?
Seeks to use continuous student feedback to incrementally change a class over time that fits the needs of the students. Its mission is to teach students how to think, not what to think.
Ubiquity, mobility, adaptability, fluidity, autonomy, ambiguity, and collaboration.
SL Rules (Change, Adapt, Evolve)
Rule #1. Provide boundaries for students to create within. This is the "What"... not what to think but the concept(s).
Rule #2. Empower students to think and develop the "How".
Rule #3. Examine the body of work... look at how the student got to their answer instead of focusing on the answer.
Rule #4. Use student feedback to make immediate changes. Then repeat.
Elements of SL
#1. Hecastics (Function): What’s the intended effect?
#2. Bionomics (Form): What’s the structure?
